The Off-Road Route – Wild Paths of Banat

3-4 days
160 km

Description

The Off-Road Route – Wild Paths of Banat is designed as an adventure and eco-exploration product that connects rural trails, hunting estates, and forest landscapes across the Serbian and Romanian parts of Banat.  It embodies the principles of sustainable adventure tourism, encouraging discovery of remote areas while promoting environmental awareness and responsible off-road mobility.  Unlike traditional adventure tourism, this route emphasizes eco-compatible off-road practices, respecting natural habitats and minimizing environmental disturbance. The route merges natural exploration with rural hospitality, integrating small operators and local associations specialized in 4x4 excursions, hunting, and countryside recreation.

GEOGRAPHICAL AND STRUCTURAL OVERVIEW

Serbian section: Ada – Male Pijace – Novi Kneževac – Rabe – Mol

Romanian section: Timișoara – Brebu Nou - Oravița – Naidăș – Berzasca

The route stretches over approximately 160 kilometers, connecting the lowland terrain of northern Banat with the mountainous landscapes of the Caraș-Severin region. This cross-border line allows visitors to experience Banat’s ecological gradient — from agricultural plains and hunting areas in Serbia to forested hills and river valleys in Romania.

The route is designed for controlled off-road driving, guided 4x4 excursions, and eco-adventure trails that integrate cultural and natural landmarks, rural hospitality, and thematic stops related to local traditions.
